4H Building

The Rose Hill 4H Building is Located at 112 E Berry Ave, Rose Hill, Ks 67133

The Society’s 4H Building was originally called Pleasant Center School as it is located in the center of Pleasant Township. The building was District #16 from July 5, 1892 until consolidation with Rose Hill #110 on February 26, 1946. A quit claim was issued to the Rose Hill Historical Society stating the 4H could use it as long as needed on August 27, 2012.

In 2014, the 4H Building was renovated for safer public use (see more about the Pleasant Center School renovation here). A bathroom addition was gifted by funding from Rocky Waitt. The building is still staged as a one-room schoolhouse but also houses lots of Rose Hill School memorabilia and is available for small gatherings!

Reserve the 4H Building: Rules & Restrictions

The 4H Building is available to groups in the community for educational, civic, social, or cultural purposes between 7 AM and 11 PM. It should be understood the Society and Rose Hill Rustler’s 4H retains priority use. The following rules/restrictions apply:

• We ask those using the facility to refrain from taping or nailing decoration to walls, flooring, or wood.
• There must be an adult present for every 5 minor attendees.
• Food and drink are allowed but it is the responsibility of the group hosting the meeting.
• No lit candles or incense may be used.
• Alcohol and tobacco use are not allowed on museum property.
• No group using the building is to imply or represent in any way that their activity is sponsored by the Rose Hill Historical Society (without express written consent of the society).

To apply for reserving the 4H Building the following form must be filled out as completely as possible. No set charge is applied, but a donation for maintenance and utilities is appreciated. We ask that you leave the building just as you found it. The group using the school is responsible for damage done. Capacity may not exceed 40 people.
